About God

We believe in the one and only living and eternal God. He is ever-present, never changing, all loving, all knowing, and perfect in every way. He is perfectly just and holy, yet full of compassion and mercy.

We believe in God’s triune nature. He exists as Father, Spirit, and Son; physical and spiritual, three equal persons in one being.

God makes Himself known in nature, history, and even personally with us. People got to know Him better through the Holy Spirit, and then He fully revealed himself through Jesus, who is God in physical human form, yet still 100% God even in His spirit.

God also gave us the Bible, both old and new testaments, to show us the correct way to live and connect with God.

We believe that while God is all powerful and all knowing, He gave us free will without creating sin. And although sin results in death and destruction, He is making all things right just as He originally designed.

About creation, sin, and grace

We believe God created everything and continues to hold everything together.

He is greater than anything in creation, including us, even though all of us, male and female, were made in His image and set apart to connect with Him. Though we have the gift of free will, we are accountable to Him with what we do with His creation, which includes us.

We believe that our ancestors Adam and Eve were tempted by the devil and sinned. This broke the perfect relationship with God and resulted in death.

All humans are born with that same desire to sin. All of us have sinned. None of us can restore that relationship with God except through His grace.

We believe that God loves the world so much that he gave His one and only son, who offers salvation freely to everyone.

We believe that God chose from before He even created the world that christians would be adopted into His family, set apart and not counted guilty of sin.

About Jesus

We believe that Jesus is the only way to God. Despite being 100% God, He also became 100% human. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born by the virgin Mary, never sinned, completed God’s plan for salvation by offering Himself as a perfect sacrifice, died paying for the sins of the world, rose from the dead, and later went to heaven where He prays for us.

He is present in the hearts of all christians ruling over us as our prophet, priest, and king.

About the Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit which comes from God the father and son, bringing life, changing hearts, keeping us from sin, and urging us to do right. God gives the Holy Spirit to all who ask.

The Holy Spirit of God convicts of us sin without leaving us in it. He enlightens us to the truth of God even before we follow Him, yet He continues our whole lives. He guides us in God’s plans for our lives and gives us the power to do them. He lives within us individually and also communally. He brings love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control.

About relationship with God

We believe everyone needs to be born again. This “second birth” isn’t physical. It is a spiritual birth where we come alive with God’s Spirit in us.

We believe that faith in Jesus is not just belief in His existence, but to trust in Him and receive His gift of salvation. It takes action, turning from what is wrong, and resolving to obey God.

We believe God accepts us only because of Jesus; His perfect life, and His death on our behalf. Those who receive Jesus as saviour and lord are not only forgiven, but adopted into God’s family.

We believe that those who follow Jesus become more like Jesus by spending time together. With the Holy Spirit inside of us, we live more like Him and you can see proof of a life spent with Him. God doesn’t give up on us, so we can expect to grow in our relationship with Him.

We believe that God wants us to be closer to Him. We can talk to Him both as our king and our perfect adoptive father. We can pray for ourselves and for others. We can ask Him to do on Earth what He does in heaven. We can tell Him what we’ve done wrong and ask for forgiveness. We can ask for every gift we need in this life. We believe that every prayer the Holy Spirit brings out of us will receive an answer and that God not only knows what is best (and that we should trust His answers), but that He can give more than we can ask or imagine.

We believe in the moral law of God, wrapped up in the ten commandments, demonstrated by Jesus’ life and teaching, stays true and fair forever. Faith in Jesus doesn’t make it useless. Instead, it encourages us to do what is right. The kingdom of God is made where we do things His way.

We believe that life is sacred, begins at conception, and that children are a blessing from God. Parents should dedicate their children and raise them in the love of God with help from the church community by the power of the Holy Spirit.

About the Church

We acknowledge one church under God, joined together from every age and nation, as one body where Christ is the head. We believe that He wants His church to act as brothers and sisters, both adults and children.

The local church is a place to worship God, baptise, have communion, get encouraged, and tell people the good news of God.

Any church that has active faith in Jesus and obeys Him as divine lord and saviour, we consider family.

We believe that the church is ultimately led by Jesus, so everything that is done in the church must follow what He wants. Leaders in the local church must be chosen according to His standards. We recognise that our congregation and leadership is not perfect, but that is not a reason to leave the church community. Rather, we should reach out to one another just as God has with us.

There are two very important symbols / traditions in the christian faith: Baptism and Communion.

Jesus told every christian to follow these traditions as demonstrations of His promises and reminders of the cost. These traditions bring life and strength to our knowledge of His promises and our obedience in following these traditions is a visible demonstration to the world that we follow Jesus.

Baptism

Baptism with water in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is the symbol to show our heart’s desire to be in the family of Christ and join in the blessings of the new covenant. The right people to baptise are Christians and their children / wards. As for children, the parents should teach their hearts and minds and expect that the Holy Spirit will bring them to their own relationship with Jesus, where they will join in the blessings that baptism is meant for. The church must provide Christian education.

Communion

Communion (The Lord’s Supper) was practiced originally with unleavened bread and wine. The unleavened bread symbolizes His body and the wine symbolizes His blood, both of which He sacrificed on a cross when He died for our sins.

All Christians may take part in this after examining themselves and turning from sin.

About ministry and end times

Ministry is what happens when God works through us to impact the lives of others with the gifts He gave us. He gives us all gifts to use, so everyone is called to a ministry. We believe that some are called to full-time ministry and the church listens to the Holy Spirit to recognize and ordain them in that work.

We believe in the afterlife. God will judge both the living and dead, good and bad. Those who have been saved by Jesus will join Him in eternal life. Those who haven’t will face eternal punishment.

We believe that it is our responsibility as christians to spread the good news of Jesus, to do what is right, to praise God both alone and together at church, to honour His day of rest, to be faithful in marriage and with our families, to respect the authority of the government, to live honestly, in purity and love, so that our lives point others to Jesus.

We happily listen to Jesus’ command to “go into all the world and make disciples of all nations” as He turns people’s hearts to Himself. God wants everyone to be saved and know Him personally.

We believe that in the end, Satan and His followers will be overcome by God and that there will be a new heaven and a new Earth. God will be with people and people will be with God.
